New proposal for Thames Bridge – Marsh Way to Belvedere = direct impact on traffic and property (land & rental values)

It has been recently announced that the Greater London Council and TfL are considering the options to add additional Thames River crossings for East London.

Options considered include one or a combination of the following:-

  1. A new modern ferry at Woolwich
    1. A ferry service at Gallions Reach
    2. A bridge at Gallions Reach
    3. A bridge at Belvedere (linking Rainham at the Marsh Way junction with the A13)

It is suggested that all river crossings in East London (including the existing routes such as the Blackwall Tunnel and Rotherhithe Tunnel) will require tolls to be paid similar to the Dartford Crossing.

The most important option for consideration concerns the Belvedere to Rainham Crossing as this runs through the BID area.

Without doubt this proposal will have a major impact on property (land & rental values) and traffic congestion.

These proposals are now out for consultation and the first roadshow to view the plans will be at CEME on Saturday 19th July 11:00am to 4:00pm

A second roadshow for the area will be held on at CEME on Wednesday 30th July 1:00pm to 7:00pm.
